People always ask for this recipe whenever they try these cookies! My Mom made them for us growing up and even though my kids say, “No offense Mom… but Nanas are better”, I think this recipe is pretty fail proof AND definitely pretty amazing! Enjoy!
What you need:
2 sticks ( 1 cup) unsalted butter – softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp Vanilla extract
1 & 1/2 cups of all purpose Flour
1/2 tsp of Salt
1 tsp of Baking Soda
3 cups of Quaker Quick Cooking Oats (if you don’t use the quick cook kind they won’t cook properly)
2 cups chocolate chips
What you do:
With an electric mixer, cream together the butter, both sugars, eggs and vanilla in large mixing bowl
Add Flour, Salt and Baking Soda and mix again
Add Oats and mix until blended
Add Chocolate Chips and mix just until they are blended in
Drop spoonfuls of batter onto a well greased (or cooking sprayed) baking sheet
Bake at 350 degree for 8 minutes.
I take them out when they look “almost” done and let them settle on top of the oven, this prevents them from burning!
You can substitute with organic butter and eggs, honey instead of sugar, whole wheat flour instead of white and raisins instead of the chocolate chips for a healthier version!

I made these over the holidays, my dad is a real cookie monster and my mum doesn’t have the energy needed to keep up with his cookie demands! I tasted one and I thought “I’d better get these out of my house before I eat them all!” They are yummy and most importantly, my dad loved them.

Tried these 3x, 8 mins and they are still pure mush. 16mins and they worked out well(even with cold butter). Great tasting!
