The infamous “Christmas crack” that will have you wanting your family to leave you alone in a room with this pan and a lifetime movie 🤩
For real, my moms friend Linda made this and gave me the recipe and it’s been one of the most loved things on here every Christmas.
You can share it in small gift bags or tins or put it out on a platter for a party – it makes a ton!
If you’ve made it before, please share your feedback so those who are wavering take the plunge and do it!
WHAT YOU NEED:
1 baking sheet lined in parchment paper
Saltine crackers (salted) – about 1&1/2 packs
2 bags of white chocolate chips
3/4 cups unsalted butter
3/4 cups brown sugar
Dried Cranberries – one bag (about 2 cups)
Slivered Almonds – one/two small bags (4 oz bag)
WHAT YOU DO:
line the baking sheet with parchment paper
line the sheet with saltine crackers so it is completely covered – this is your base
Melt butter & brown sugar together in a saucepan and bring to a boil, remove from heat and let cool for 3 minutes
Pour butter & sugar mix on top of crackers and spread evenly across with spatula
Bake in 400 degree oven for 3-6 min – it really depends on the strength of your oven so start checking at 3 min because it will brown quickly
Melt chocolate chips in microwave or double boiler and stir until creamy
Pour melted chocolate on top of cracker and sugar mix and spread evenly to cover entirely
Sprinkle almonds and cranberries onto chocolate mixture to evenly cover and then gently press with fingers to ensure they are stuck to the chocolate
Put in the fridge for 3 hours
When done, break off with hands in pieces and cut into squares or any shapes on a cutting board – they aren’t supposed to look perfect so any shape will do!
